5 Trends I'm Loving | Fall 2018
The things that catch my eye in the fashion world are not-so-basic when it comes to trends. They are pieces inspired by artwork, sculptural structure, and unique textures that you can wear as a temporal form of expression.
Most days, I toss on one of my same outfits for work and run out the door. But sometimes, I like to take my time and be inspired. So these are some of the trends I’m finding major inspiration in for the fall season.
Textures on textures.
It’s one thing to wear a chunky cable knit sweater or a slick pair of metallic pants, but obviously I love extra. The Stella McCartney show highlighted some beautiful combinations of textures ranging from light and wispy to bold and heavy. The best part is, you probably have similar items already to create an inspired look
While everyone is rocking the warm-toned flannels, I’m excited to embrace some cool-toned neutrals this winter. This ensemble also from the Stella show just encapsulates an effortless 70’s vibe that is simple, bright, and refreshing.
There’s just something about a monochorome look, all the way down the socks, that gets me excited. Monochorome is so intentional, it’s almost perplexing. This silky rust monochrome look by Mara Hoffman, is one I simply adore.
We all know the phrase “a pop of color” but there is a shade of blue that when existing among warm greeny-browns, is just simply special. Alex & Olivia nailed it with with these flashy combos.
Black and white.
Ok I’m actually about everything in this entire look. The deep cut V, the black circle glasses, everything. As much as I love color, the simplicity of black and white with articulate shapes is just wonderful.
