I'm excited to be here
My name is Amanda and I am so excited to be a contributor on ithinkifeel. As of 2005, my MBTI was INTJ, but I’d love to get typed again. I am a new mom, a new Denver-transplant, and a new blogger. Bam!
On ithinkifeel, my goals are to share unfiltered, relatable parenting stories. But not just mom-exclusive stuff, because one of my HUGE priorities as a parent is to maintain individuality and my own passions. I want my son to see his mother as a person with preferences, passions, and drive — not just a parent. So on here, I’m going to share regular lifestyle content that, again, is meant to be relatable, but all with the “I’m a new mom, sleep deprived, and wing-it everyday” spin.
So, who am I anyway? I currently work part time, and baby-wrangle most of the other time. I’m the last person to ask for fashion advice, but I’m pretty good at giving life advice. I’m an introvert, but I also thrive when I can process things externally (read: verbally or though writing). I have a stack of journals that I’ve kept since I was 13 years old. And I have that freaky photographic memory skill where you can ask me where your watch is and I can tell you it’s on the dresser, under your green sweatshirt, but on top of your blue tshirt (#truestory). But don’t ask me to remember a date you verbally spit out a week ago in conversation.
I went to school for music, and love getting lost for hours in the studio working on a new piece. But realtalk: I haven’t done that in longer than I care to admit. I am a certified personal trainer, and I love to run. I also love yoga, strength training, and other fitness trends. As a new mom though, I celebrate a week that I work out once, and give myself a pass on weeks that I miss workouts entirely.
So that’s my 300-word blog post advertisement for myself (spoiler alert, I didn’t count). I hope you’ll stick around to learn more about me, laugh with me, learn with me, and shake your head while saying “yeah, girl. yeah.”
